Fermenters

I used to mainly use plastic wine fermenters to make my beer.  They are good for homebrewers as they employ an airlock to keep any infection away from the beer.  Also, the fact that you can see the CO2 bubbling through the airlock means you're less likely to open them up to see what's going on!

In mid 2007 I bought a Brupaks 50l stainless conical fermenter.  It was considerably cheaper than the Blichmann one (at the time) and their choice of valves reflects this.  Still, you can buy a lot of valves for half the cost of a Fermenator.  And this one comes with legs!

Brupaks no longer sell this fermenter as the exchange rate has changed resulting in these fermenters becoming as expensive as the Blichman ones.  Therefore, I'm saving my pennies and will eventually get a Blichman to go alongside this fermenter.

I no longer use plastic fermenters except for a little 3 gallon bucket that I use for the small batches from the pilot brewery.
